Avoid Harmful Gossip
Proverbs 11:13 – Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.
Today’s message is directed at those in whom evil resides; those who have no real concept of good or bad. Their motivation comes from a place of wickedness often manifested in traits of dishonesty, fraud, or malicious slander.
Dishonesty is often the cause of serious problems and even ruptures within the family unit or amongst friends. Relationships are weakened, often irreparably so, by such dishonesty. God abhors deceit and those who dissemble their family ties as a result of it. His Holy Word tells us to be honest in our doings, be they at work or home. This honesty and loyalty will be rewarded by Him.
As God’s followers there may be times when we think He is not listening to our prayers, and question whether we are truly blessed. In these moments look to the Holy Bible for the explanation that “in a home where there is no loyalty and honesty God removes his eyes and his blessings from them.” God’s blessings are only bestowed on those who banish wickedness and dishonesty from their lives. Build your life’s foundations on good habits alone, and you will be rewarded by the Lord Almighty. Amen.
